Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the ERC has provided urgent humanitarian aid to those affected by the recent typhoon that struck various regions of the Republic of the Philippines.

In line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, the Chairman of the ERC Board of Directors, Dr. Hamdan bin Musallam Al Mazrouei, confirmed that all ERC teams are actively addressing the impacts of the typhoon.

The ERC has initiated a relief plan to mitigate the disaster's effects on local communities in the hardest-hit areas.

Dr. Al Mazrouei explained that the ERC’s relief plan prioritises delivering essential supplies in the initial phase, carried out in collaboration with the UAE Embassy in Manila.

He noted that the ERC continually assesses the actual needs of affected individuals, providing timely support to alleviate the humanitarian impact on those in need.

This urgent relief aid aligns with the UAE leadership’s commitment to swift international humanitarian response and support for those impacted by natural disasters, aiming to ensure early recovery and provide essential needs.

The aid reflects the UAE's longstanding humanitarian, charitable, and developmental role worldwide, extending to all people regardless of origin, colour, race, religion, or international stance on various issues.
