His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has attended the fourth round of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, organised by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, at Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah, taking place until October 13, 2024.

His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended part of the fourth-round competitions, featuring athletes from the junior, youth, senior and master categories in the Gi competitions, that will conclude on Sunday.

His Highness emphasised the significance of organising such events to nurture future champions, attract jiu-jitsu talent, and develop athletes’ skills across all categories, while fostering the UAE's position as a leading global hub for jiu-jitsu.

His Highness also highlighted the leadership's commitment to further advancing jiu-jitsu and supporting promising national talent by providing the necessary resources, state-of-the-art sports facilities, and training expertise, as well as organising local and international championships and sporting events.

Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed Al Hashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, President of the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union, and Senior Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his unwavering support and dedication to promoting jiu-jitsu, underscoring that the UAE’s remarkable achievements in jiu-jitsu are the result of the vision and groundwork laid by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

Al Hashmi emphasised that His Highness’s visit reflects the leadership’s commitment to sports in general and to jiu-jitsu as a way of life, highlighting its crucial role in promoting health and fitness across the UAE and in cultivating a generation of exceptional champions.

He added: “His Highness’s presence and continued support are powerful motivators for all of us to strive for excellence in empowering youth and providing them with the best competitive environment. We are fully committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure that UAE athletes reach the pinnacle on the global stage and translate the leadership’s support into tangible achievements.”

The Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship consists of five rounds, with the current round following the previous three held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. The earlier rounds attracted large crowds and recorded intense competitions across various categories.
