ABU DHABI (WAM)
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, visited the Innovation Centre of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), where he was updated on the initiatives and services it provides to ensure the care and rehabilitation of People of Determination.
Welcomed by Abdullah Abdulali Al Hamidan, ZHO Secretary-General, Sheikh Nahyan praised the comprehensive services offered by the organisation to empower and integrate People of Determination into society, expressing his pleasure at visiting the Innovation Centre and observing students in vocational rehabilitation workshops producing high-quality products.
Sheikh Nahyan was briefed on the Zayed Higher Organisation’s strategic projects, plans, and services for People of Determination throughout Abu Dhabi. He observed workshops and vocational rehabilitation initiatives run by the organisation, which highlighted the contributions of its talented participants.
He also visited the Exhibition Hall, the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa, launched in collaboration with Topland. The exhibition showcases innovative solutions for People of Determination, allowing individuals and entities to experience these solutions in real-life-like environments.
Among these solutions is the non-invasive hearing device HEARNU, which uses bone conduction technology to assist individuals with hearing impairments. Another feature is an initiative that allows individuals not on the spectrum to experience sensory challenges faced by those with autism, using advanced technology to create an immersive experience and foster community empathy and awareness.
