As part of the second phase of its Asian research tour, TRENDS Research and Advisory announced a new initiative from Tokyo aimed at leveraging advanced AI technologies for data analysis and future foresight research. The announcement was made during the TRENDS Fourth Annual Conference, held at the University of Tokyo in collaboration with the University’s Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST).

TRENDS will collaborate with RCAST, with whom it signed a research partnership agreement during the Conference, to jointly produce studies on using AI technologies in data analysis and future forecasting. The initiative also aims to enhance the work mechanisms at TRENDS to keep pace with rapid global advancements in this field. TRENDS’ Tokyo Office, headed by Prof. Satoshi IKEUCHI, Professor of Religion and Global Security at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) and Founding Chair of RCAST Open Laboratory for Emergence Strategies (ROLES), University of Tokyo, will spearhead the implementation of this initiative in the near future.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, expressed his delight at TRENDS’ work team and researchers launching this scientific initiative while in Tokyo and at its prestigious university.

He added that utilising AI in data analysis constitutes a significant leap forward in scientific research, helping to create innovative solutions to the world’s challenges. He looked forward to seeing the initiative further embed AI technologies in TRENDS’ research and benefit from global expertise in this promising field.
TRENDS Research Medal

In another event in Japan, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali honored Prof. Masakazu Sugiyama, Director of the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) at the University of Tokyo, by awarding him the TRENDS Research Medal in recognition of his significant role in fostering collaboration between the two centres and his contributions to the success of the TRENDS Fourth Annual Conference.

Prof. Masakazu Sugiyama thanked TRENDS and its CEO for awarding him the TRENDS Research Medal, stating, “I am honoured to receive this medal, which reflects a global scientific research vision.”

He added that TRENDS, with its global research output and vision, is a model to be followed.

It is worth noting that TRENDS also announced during its current research tour the TRENDS Research Medal, which is awarded to individuals who make significant contributions to the development of scientific research and are committed to enhancing cooperation with TRENDS in promoting a culture of scientific research across various fields.
