Director General of the GCAA, Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi,  and the Secretary General of the ICAO, Juan Carlos Salazar, signed the MoU.

Al Suwaidi emphasised the UAE's commitment to fostering international cooperation in civil aviation under ICAO, aiming for growth and sustainability.

Additionally, he noted that the ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium serves as a key platform for aligning efforts to enhance safety and security in aviation.

“The UAE’s role in hosting this event highlights its esteemed status in the global aviation sector," he said.

The signing comes after ICAO selected the UAE at the 3rd Global Aviation Summit in May 2024.

GISS 2025 will take place in Abu Dhabi, uniting global aviation leaders to further ICAO’s goals in safety, security, and sustainability.
