In the presence and under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, TRENDS Research and Advisory celebrated its 10th anniversary (Bronze Jubilee), marking its expansion and global recognition, and emphasizing its commitment to progress, driven by the efforts of its team and the support of its partners across various fields.
The celebration, held at the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi's grand ballroom, was attended by H.E. Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai; H.E. Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice; and Mr. Zondwa Mandela, Chairman of the Mandela Legacy Foundation, alongside notable figures from universities, think tanks, media outlets and partners, as well as media professionals and influencers.
In his speech, H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, congratulated the TRENDS family, stating that the center stands on solid ground as a model of a successful national institution, with a clear vision and focus on goals.
He highlighted that the center actively contributes to understanding the present and shaping the future of the UAE, the region, and the world. Through its research, conferences, advice, and information, TRENDS serves the nation and promotes human progress globally.
Sheikh Nahyan noted that the center's success is attributed primarily to the wise leadership of the UAE, under the guidance of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God protect him.
He stressed that the UAE is committed to adopting scientific and objective approaches to thoroughly and consciously studying all issues and developments, and intelligently understanding how to successfully address them. Furthermore, he noted that the UAE, under the guidance of its wise leadership, adopts a strategic outlook on both the present and the future, embracing all successful practices from around the world.
Our country enjoys a distinguished climate for performance that fosters giving, success, and hard work, as well as a conducive environment for creativity and initiative. It strongly encourages the development of institutions and individuals, enabling them to fully benefit from the knowledge and discoveries of this era, which is characterized by rapid growth in ideas and concepts.
He stated: "Today, as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of TRENDS Research and Advisory, which embodies in its work all the positive impacts of the nation's progress, I am deeply honoured to express, on my behalf and on behalf of all of you, our profound gratitude, appreciation, love, and respect to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God protect him. We take immense pride in his wise leadership, which has enabled the UAE to attain its position among the nations of the world".
He said: "We thank His Highness for his great dedication to ensuring that our beloved nation moves confidently towards the future, always capable of contributing with awareness and competence to the global progress. Moreover, by God's will, this path will deepen the bonds of coexistence, peace, and human fraternity with all nations and peoples".
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan explained that the 10th anniversary of TRENDS Research and Advisory is an opportunity for its team to take pride in the UAE and the wonderful opportunities it provides for work and achievement. He pointed out that this celebration is an important occasion to express deep gratitude and appreciation to the members of this center's family, including the CEO, members of the Advisory Council, members of the Academic and Scientific Council, heads of sectors, experts, research team members, and staff, in addition to members of its external offices.
He praised the efforts of TRENDS Research and Advisory and its team for their work in making the center a leader on the national, regional, and global levels, expressing his appreciation for their dedication to ensuring the center always stands as a successful national model of perseverance, and hard work.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan emphasized that the 10th anniversary marks a significant milestone for reflection and review of past achievements and a moment to reaffirm the center’s future direction. With the grace of God, the center is expected to continually advance, reflecting important transformations in the UAE, the region, and the world in its plans and programs. TRENDS will keep pace with rapid and evolving developments in knowledge and technology, as well as the resulting changes in economic, social, regional, and global systems.
He stressed that the center plays an essential role in understanding these changes and enhancing everyone’s ability to respond wisely and successfully, in a balanced and rational manner.
He expressed his hope that TRENDS Research and Advisory will continue its journey of success, always embodying a set of values and principles that characterize the UAE’s pioneering path. These include a commitment to achievement, excellence, teamwork, and a conscious openness to the world by adopting the best practices. He also highlighted the center's dedication to personal and professional integrity for all its members, without exception.
Sheikh Nahyan further stated: "This center has earned a strong reputation, and it is your responsibility to uphold and strengthen it through your ongoing programs, your strong connection to the global knowledge system, and your continuous efforts to inform society and the world about all the latest developments. Your focus on priority areas for the UAE and the region, as well as your efforts to help institutions translate your research and recommendations into practical and real-world applications, will ensure that you continue to succeed in this mission".
He concluded by congratulating the TRENDS team on their 10th anniversary, wishing them continued success, and expressing his hope for the UAE’s ongoing prosperity under the wise leadership of its rulers.

TRENDS Hub Award for Scientific Research
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan also awarded the winners of the first edition of the TRENDS Hub Award for Scientific Research, in both Arabic and English categories, aimed at encouraging creative and effective scientific research.
The first award in the Arabic category went to researcher Samah Al-Baradai from the University of Tunis for her work on cultural and social issues. Yasser Qutishat from Jordan took second place for his work on technology and artificial intelligence, and Nidaa Al-Sayed from Cairo University came third for her research on economic issues, development, and climate sustainability.
In the English category, Maryam Al-Saidi from Zayed University won first place for her research on technology and artificial intelligence. Mohammed Al-Azayzeh from Zayed University took second place for his work on cultural and social issues, and Asma Al-Afifi won third place for her research on cultural and social issues.
Visual Identity of TRENDS International Training Institute
Following this, Sheikh Nahyan launched the visual identity of TRENDS International Training Institute, marking a new phase of institutional and individual development. The institute aims to be a global leader in providing an integrated educational environment, blending theory and practice to meet the evolving needs of the labor market.
Sheikh Nahyan opened the accompanying exhibition, which featured TRENDS publications and visual displays of its research and activities.
Continuing the Mission
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, expressed deep appreciation for Sheikh Nahyan’s patronage and support. He emphasized that the success achieved by the center over the past decade and its future aspirations are the result of the efforts of the team and the support of its research, media, and governmental partners.
He noted that the celebration of the 10th anniversary of TRENDS' is a celebration of knowledge creation through scientific research.
Dr. Al-Ali reaffirmed that TRENDS is committed to growth, empowerment, and expansion, attracting talented researchers and collaborating with partners, emphasizing the center’s motto, "Investing in youth is investing in the future."

It included engaging activities that highlighted the positive and productive work environment at TRENDS, as well as videos showcasing the center's research journey and future vision.
