ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

The Family Care Authority (FCA) has concluded its Summer Camps 2024, held across key locations in Abu Dhabi, including Al Bahya, Al Falah, and Ghayathi in Al Dhafra.

Organised under the broader One Family initiative, these camps provided an inclusive experience for families, and individuals of all ages, promoting healthy and active lifestyles throughout the summer.

The FCA’s Summer Camps included children and parents from each of the communities, engaging them in a variety of sports and cultural activities.

With a focus on nurturing positive behaviours in children and increasing parental awareness of positive parenting practices, the camps contributed to further enhancing the well-being and unity of families in the region.

More than 200 beneficiaries joined the Summer Camp activities, which provided an opportunity to strengthen family bonds and provide enjoyable experiences for children during the summer.

Individuals utilised their free time by participating in activities that catered to their recreational, educational, and social interests.

Director General of the Family Care Authority, Her Excellency Salama Al Ameemi, said, "Our Summer Camps have been a testament to the FCA’s ongoing commitment to engaging with all communities across Abu Dhabi. We believe that providing our youth with access to stimulating and enriching activities, both physical and cultural, helps them excel in various avenues of life. This camp has allowed us to connect directly with a variety of communities and highlight the services that the FCA offers to support and enrich the lives of families in the region."

“Through such initiatives as our Summer Camps, the FCA aims to build stronger, more cohesive communities where every individual feels valued and supported. FCA remains committed to ensuring that youths and their families across all communities in Abu Dhabi have access to opportunities that promote their overall development and well-being.”

The Summer Camps were designed to be a key part of the FCA’s One Family initiative, which unifies its various community outreach and engagement efforts.

This initiative aims to centralise these efforts, making it easier for individuals to access and understand the wide range of services offered by the FCA.

Participants in the camps enjoyed a broad spectrum of constructive programs, including physical sports like football, swimming, and karate, as well as cultural experiences such as arts and crafts, learning about local culture and traditions, and Quran memorisation.

These activities not only provided fun and engagement, but also contributed to the holistic development of the youth, fostering creativity, cultural awareness, and spiritual growth.

The camps also offered the FCA a valuable opportunity to deepen its connection with the community.

Participants who took part were able to learn more about the FCA’s services, fostering stronger communication and building a deeper bond with the community members of Abu Dhabi emirate.
