Dr. Nawal Al-Hosani, UAE's Permanent Representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), emphasised that Emirati Women's Day celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of Emirati women, making them inspiring models for women worldwide.
In a statement commemorating the occasion, she stated, “Over the past few decades, Emirati women have achieved remarkable international milestones, specialising in fields vital for a sustainable future, such as science, engineering, technology, space, innovation, sustainability, clean and renewable energy. They have also taken on significant roles in developmental and climate action initiatives.”
Dr. Al-Hosani highlighted that Emirati women hold prominent positions in both the public and private sectors, as well as international organisations, thanks to a comprehensive support system established by the founding fathers and continuously expanded by the wise leadership.
She further emphasised the instrumental role of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), in empowering Emirati women.
