The Contributions of Emirati women form the "bedrock" of UAE society, said H.E. Shahab Issa Abu Shahab, Director General of the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC).
"As we celebrate Emirati Women's Day, we honour the invaluable contributions of Emirati women across all facets of life. From nurturing families to excelling in education and various professions, their profound impact is far-reaching as they form the bedrock of our society," he said in a statement to Aletihad.
"Their impact also extends to research and development (R&D), where Emirati women are inspiring the next generation by playing essential roles in elevating the global standing of Abu Dhabi and the UAE in science and technology," Abu Shahab added. Every year on August 28, the UAE commemorates Emirati Women's Day, a national occasion to celebrate the remarkable achievements and contributions Emirati women, and their key role in shaping the future of the country.
In the spirit of "Women: Ambitions & Inspiration for the Next 50 Years", the Director General affirmed that the ATRC is committed to empowering Emirati women by providing resources and opportunities to fuel their aspirations in research and innovation.
"We believe that realising our nation's ambition requires the contributions of Emirati women in shaping our R&D ecosystem. As we envision the next half-century, we remain committed to nurturing their talents, ensuring they continue to inspire and accelerate a brighter future for all," he added.
