ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

As part of the 'Don’t compromise: Your Summer is Safe' campaign, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (ADCDA) has launched a series of awareness workshops for government and private sector entities in the emirates.

The workshops took place in various locations, including shopping centres in Abu Dhabi.

The ADCDA has launched workshops to enhance the awareness of employees by developing their skills in handling emergency situations, including injuries and fire.

The workshops include first aid, fire prevention methods, necessary measures to take in case of fire, and safe and effective fire-fighting techniques, as well as evacuation plans in emergencies and how to execute them correctly.

The theoretical and practical training for employees also highlighted the handling of common summer injuries, including heat exhaustion and the use of specialised fire extinguishers for different types of fire.

The workshops featured virtual reality technology to simulate fire, allowing participants to enhance their abilities to handle fire effectively and safely and to understand the steps followed during emergencies.

The ADCDA confirmed its ongoing commitment to building a prepared community equipped with the necessary skills in case of emergencies.

The awareness workshops included more than 15 entities, including: the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi; Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination; Emirates Transport; the National Center of Meteorology; the Department of Municipalities and Transport; the Department of Energy; Abu Dhabi Mobility; the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments; Emirates Red Crescent; Burjeel Hospital; Saeed Company; Abu Dhabi Healthcare Company (SEHA); Americana Company; Al-Diyar Company; and Al Ain Distribution Company.
