Dr. Tariq Humaid Al Tayer, First Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) and Chairman of the Friendship Committee with North and Latin American Parliaments, met on Tuesday at the FNC headquarters in Abu Dhabi with a parliamentary delegation led by Francisco Chahuán, Chairman of the Chile-UAE Parliamentary Friendship Committee in the Chilean Senate.

Dr. Tariq Al Tayer emphasised the significance of this meeting, coinciding with the visit of the President of the Republic of Chile to the UAE. He highlighted that the parliamentary relations between the two councils reflect the growing UAE-Chile cooperation in all fields.

He also stressed the importance of activating the work of parliamentary friendship groups to enhance coordination and consultation on various issues of mutual interest, especially during participation in international parliamentary forums.

Chahuán emphasised the importance of enhancing parliamentary cooperation and various areas of mutual interest between the two countries.

He noted Chile's commitment to boosting cooperation in various fields, especially in technology, science, renewable energy, and sustainable development.

The meeting was attended by several FNC members and officials.
