Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination has signed a cooperation agreement with the National Academy for Childhood Development aimed at enhancing communication and collaboration between the two entities to achieve mutual interests beneficial to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Under this agreement, the Organisation will offer scholarships to ten Emirati students and employ them after graduation. The Organisation will also collaborate with the academy to attract students and graduates for practical training and employment after graduation.
Additionally, students of the academy will be allowed to train at the organisation for the six-month practical training period.
Both parties aim to build effective partnerships to achieve their common strategic goals, exchange relevant information and studies, and coordinate in implementing joint projects to ensure proper execution and timely completion.
The agreement was signed by Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, and Dr. Hessa Ali Al Kaabi, Head of the Academy Team at the National Academy for Childhood Development. The signing ceremony took place at the academy's headquarters, attended by several leaders from both sides.
The academy commits to selecting and enrolling ten Emirati students in the professional diploma program for childhood development to work in the positions of (Assistant Teacher / Specialised Teacher) according to the standards agreed upon by both parties.
The academy will provide periodic reports about them to the organisation and offer specialised training programs for current employees working with people of determination. Additionally, the academy may develop professional programs for future employees in the field of people of determination for positions such as occupational therapy and rehabilitation assistants, behavior modification specialists, learning difficulties specialists, and other related roles.
The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination will select and interview Emirati candidates for enrolment in the study program in coordination with the academy. The organisation will sign training contracts with the selected students, ensure their employment after successfully completing the study program, and facilitate field visits from academy experts and specialists to provide advice in various areas when needed.
Al Humaidan confirmed that this agreement with the National Academy for Childhood Development is one of the most important national initiatives supporting the efforts of the UAE government in the field of localisation. It represents a pioneering step in attracting and recruiting Emirati talents in the field of care and rehabilitation for people of determination, providing job opportunities for young Emiratis in non-traditional sectors outside the strategic plan's targeted sectors of the government.
He added, "At the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, we always encourage students to join special education departments in the specialisations needed by the job market because we truly need qualified national cadres to work with us in this humanitarian field to address the shortage of national staff in this domain."
Al Humaidan praised the goals of the National Academy for Childhood Development in providing educational and training programs and continuing education programs related to childhood care and development, while preserving Emirati values and identity. He emphasised the importance of creating the necessary academic and training environment for students, which contributes to developing their knowledge, enhancing their skills, and qualifying them in various fields of childhood care.
Dr. Hessa Ali Al Kaabi, Head of the Team at the National Academy for Childhood Development, stated: "In collaboration with our strategic partners, we aspire to elevate the childhood system in Abu Dhabi and develop a comprehensive strategy to enhance child welfare. We aim to support the social, educational, and health sector strategies of the emirate. Therefore, through our partnership with Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, we seek to contribute to empowering people of determination and supporting early intervention programs.
Training, Employment
A six-month training program has been designed, culminating in employment, to enhance the skills and abilities of caregivers to interact directly with people of determination.
This training program follows the completion of an intensive and accredited 12-month professional program, developed in line with the state's direction to promote the use of the Arabic language and preserve Emirati identity."
