President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday met with former President of the Republic of Korea Lee Myung-bak in Seoul as part of his state visit to the Republic of Korea.

During the meeting, His Highness and the former President of the Republic of Korea engaged in cordial conversation. His Highness expressed his pleasure at meeting with former President Lee Myung-bak and wished him continued health and prosperity.

They each reflected on their previous visits to the other’s respective country, emphasising the importance of ongoing efforts to build robust bridges of cooperation between the two nations. They noted the significant progress resulting from this cooperation, exemplified by one of the most important collaborative projects between the two nations: the initiation of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant in the UAE during former President Lee Myung-bak's time in office. They also welcomed the continued strength of the bilateral relationship and the elevation of UAE-Korea ties to a Special Strategic Partnership.

His Highness remarked that the UAE-Korea relationship continues to thrive and expressed his appreciation for former President Lee Myung-bak's contributions to the strength of bilateral ties between the two countries.

The former Korean President expressed his pleasure at meeting His Highness and his pride in working with him previously to strengthen relations between the two countries at all levels.
