In alignment with the UAE’s deep-rooted legacy of giving, DP World is committed to delivering charity and humanitarian aid across all regions it operates in, said Latifa Al Qemzi, Director-General of DP World.

To ensure targeted and impactful charity endeavors, DP World has established the DP World Foundation, its philanthropic arm. “Our goal is to drive positive change in the communities where we operate, spanning across 75 countries,” stated Al Qemzi.

“Climate change affects all societies, and each of us, whether individuals, institutions, or governments, must contribute to addressing this crisis,” she said.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that climate change will cause an additional 250,000 deaths annually between 2030 and 2050, according to Al Qemzi. “These statistics serve as a sobering reminder of the urgency for proactive intervention,” she remarked.

The DP World Foundation, operational for one year and five months, has contributed to supporting various national initiatives, including those championed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

“Short-term relief efforts are crucial in aiding vulnerable communities, but sustainable solutions are equally imperative,” Al Qemzi affirmed.

She explained that DP World’s comprehensive approach leverages both immediate relief operations and long-term sustainability initiatives towards achieving meaningful change.

As DP World continues to navigate the intersection of sustainability and philanthropy, it remains committed to fostering social stability and prosperity, locally and globally. Through collaborative efforts and strategic investments, Al Qemzi noted that the DP World Foundation endeavors to make a lasting impact on the communities it serves, paving the way for a more resilient and sustainable future.
