Top companies from the UAE and around the globe gathered at the International Exhibition for National Security and Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2024), hosted at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), to unveil their latest breakthroughs and security solutions.

Among the pioneering innovations showcased is the in-box UV drone technology presented by Emirates Gateway Security Services (EGSS), a subsidiary of Alpha Dhabi Holding. In an interview with Aletihad, Wael Al Hashemi, Project Manager at EGSS, highlighted the revolutionary capabilities of this innovation, allowing drones to conduct patrols, change batteries, and rectify any issues within minutes, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and response times.

EGSS also showcased long-range cameras capable of detection, recognition, and individual identification from afar. Al Hashemi emphasised the role of AI in minimising human errors, improving efficiency, and enabling cameras to perform complex tasks independently, leading to quicker response times and enhanced security measures.

“The UAE’s AI innovation landscape holds immense potential. As a leading technology company committed to supporting the UAE’s national security, we’re thrilled to play a pivotal role in this transformative journey. Our technical team anticipates remarkable advancements in AI within the next five years, emanating from the UAE and impacting the global stage. In our forthcoming five-year plan, we are committed to developing locally manufactured AI-enabled equipment to showcase the UAE’s technological prowess to the world,” he said.

Participation in ISNR Abu Dhabi serves as an opportunity for EGSS to expand its network, stay abreast of emerging technologies, and demonstrate its contributions to UAE’s security infrastructure, noted Al Hashemi.

Another standout exhibit at the event was Tactiscan, a device developed by Spectral Engines, a German tech company, aimed at frontline forces for drug detection. Speaking with Aletihad, Lukas Schiffer, Managing Director of Spectral Engines, highlighted the device’s ability to provide rapid and safe screening of substances, aiding law enforcement in identifying illegal drugs and ensuring officer safety.

In collaboration with Tech and Smart Solutions, Spectral Engines is in discussions with local authorities in the UAE to deploy Tactiscan, showcasing the global relevance of such innovations in enhancing security measures, according to Schiffer.

He underscored the role of AI in streamlining screening processes, improving efficiency, and providing real-time insights for decision-making on the frontlines. The device’s cloud-based system enables seamless updates and data sharing across countries, facilitating intercontinental collaboration in combating drug trafficking and enhancing national security measures, Schiffer noted.
