Abu Dhabi (ALETIHAD)

The Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) and Nafis have partnered to train 450 Emirati women as healthcare assistants. Delivered by Fatima College of Health Sciences (FCHS), the programme follows leadership's directives to qualify 10,000 Emiratis to join the UAE's health sector as nurses and emergency medicine staff.


His Excellency Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, the Director General of the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), and His Excellency Ghannam Al Mazrouei, the Secretary General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council, held a meeting at the headquarters of Fatima College of Health Sciences (FCHS), affiliated with ACTVET, in Abu Dhabi.
The participants in this meeting included students from the first batch of the Healthcare Assistant programme, jointly implemented for the first time by both parties, at the branches of FCHS in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Ajman. Officials from ACTVET, the UAE Competitiveness Council, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization also attended the meeting.


The partnership aims to meet the objectives outlined in the UAE's Fifty-Year Plan, primarily focusing on preparing specialised UAE Nationals capable of contributing to the growth of the workforce in the country's healthcare sector.


This meeting highlighted the vision of ACTVET, and its ongoing efforts to train and empower UAE Nationals to work in this key sector through an advanced plan implemented by Fatima College of Health Sciences.


The college takes a leading role in implementing and achieving the leadership's directives in the healthcare field, employing high – level academic and applied curricula, advanced laboratories, and adherence to the latest global standards and systems.


His Excellency Ghannam Al Mazrouei, the Secretary General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council, expressed his delight with the meeting, which is part of a comprehensive plan to visit all strategic partners contributing efficiently to achieving the goals of the NAFIS programme and preparing a sustainable human capital in the private sector.


His Excellency Al Mazrouei highlighted that the NAFIS programme for healthcare provides qualified participants with various financial and non-financial benefits, including tuition expenses and financial rewards based on academic performance. The council collaborates with numerous strategic partners, working on developing and implementing government initiatives and mechanisms to increase employment opportunities immediately upon graduation.


His Excellency Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi and His Excellency Ghannam Al Mazrouei went on a tour at the campus, visiting various classrooms, laboratories, simulation labs, and advanced facilities.
