The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) has placed a strategic priority on road safety in Al Ain city. The aim is to increase awareness on traffic safety among drivers and road users.

An initiative was recently launched at Bawadi Mall as part of the Arab Traffic Week activities, running until May 10, 2024 under the slogan "With our awareness, we arrive safely".

General Mahmoud Youssef Al-Balushi, Director of ADP's Traffic and Patrol Directorate, stressed the importance of ongoing traffic education and awareness programmes to prevent accidents and enhance traffic safety.

The initiative in Al Ain City includes educating visitors about traffic regulations, laws, and common driving errors that can lead to fatal accidents.

Safe practices for students getting on and off buses were also highlighted, along with the dangers of driving without a license.

The Directorate in Al Ain City distributed digital awareness booklets and organised contests with prizes.

ADP's Child Patrol goals and the use of modern technologies were discussed with children, alongside various fun awareness activities.

Field visits were conducted at schools and strategic partners to provide traffic advice and guidance, distribute awareness brochures, reaffirm the meed to adhere to traffic laws, and caution against using mobile phones while driving, speeding, and overtaking red lights.

Prioritising pedestrian safety was also stressed during the awareness campaign.
