On the same note, Emirates Airlines has decided to suspend travel procedures for passengers departing from Dubai starting from 8:00 am on Wednesday, April 17, until midnight on April 18, due to operational challenges resulting from adverse weather conditions and road conditions.

Emirates Airlines added that procedures for passengers arriving in Dubai and transit passengers will continue.

The Dubai Airports spokesperson added that the teams are working hard to recover operations as quickly as possible in very challenging conditions.

Dubai Airports stated that due to the unprecedented weather conditions in the UAE, Dubai International (DXB) is experiencing significant disruption. It’s challenging for departing guests to reach the airport and arrival guests to leave the terminals due to flooding and road blockages, resulting in limited transport options.

According to the spokesperson, we’re continuously working hard with our emergency response teams and service partners to restore normal operations as quickly as possible and support for guests.

Flights are also delayed and diverted with many airlines impacted by displaced crew. Recovery will take some time. Dubai Airports thanks its guests for their patience and understanding while it works through these operational challenges.

We strongly urge guests to check directly with their airline to obtain the latest information on the status of their flight before coming to the airport and allow significant extra travel time, according to the spokesperson.
