The Dubai Tourist Police Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation (CID) recently held an informative workshop for the 270 Grosvenor House Hotel employees. The session aimed to raise awareness of smart police services, security procedures, and public safety measures.
The event was implemented in cooperation with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Directorate General of Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and external partners of Dubai Police.
The Director of the Dubai Tourist Police Department, Brigadier Khalfan Al Jallaf, stressed the importance of promoting security awareness in hotels and resorts with support from partners.
He also reaffirmed the Department's steadfast dedication to providing awareness-raising services for tourists and visitors all year round, noting that this commitment aligns with Dubai Police's strategic vision of enhancing community well-being and reinforcing an overall pervasive sense of safety.
The General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defence taught the employees about fire prevention, incident response, and safety protocols. Meanwhile, the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services contributed by raising awareness about crucial first-aid procedures, communication channels, and emergency management.
Notably, several other departments took part in this event, including the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, the Electronic Investigations Department, the Lost and Found Department, the Criminal and Administrative Investigations Department, and the Call Centre (901).
Lectures covered the high-quality and convenient services offered by the Smart Police Stations (SPS), which provide accessible assistance to the public around the clock, without human intervention.
Moreover, participants learned about the risks associated with narcotic substances. They were informed about the lost and found system available at Dubai hotels, as well as the effective methods of communication and engagement with law enforcement agencies.
Awareness sessions about cybercrime were also held encompassing strategies for dealing with electronic breaches and extortion, as well as utilising the e-crime platform to report such incidents.
Additionally, participants were taught about the appropriate procedures for contacting the police in emergency cases (999) and non-emergency situations (901).
At the end of the event, the Head of the Tourist Security Patrols Section, Lieutenant Colonel Musa Mubarak, honoured and expressed his thanks to speakers, partners, and all individuals who contributed to the successful implementation of these impactful initiatives.
