DUBAI (ALETIHAD)

The Dubai Police, represented by the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, recently launched the 'Winter Clothing' initiative to bring joy and happiness to 19 inmates' children by providing them with warm winter clothes.

Brigadier Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, the Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, emphasised that this initiative aligns with the community-oriented efforts of Dubai Police to bring happiness to both the internal and external communities, including inmates and their families.

This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent.

Julfar highlighted that collaborative initiatives and activities undertaken by correctional establishments, in cooperation with partners, aim to psychologically and morally prepare this group for their reintegration into society and promote positive values such as tolerance, love, and generosity through diverse programs, activities, and courses.

"The 'Winter Clothing' initiative for the children of inmates is a significant part of the broader community-driven efforts to bring joy and happiness to inmates, their families, and their children."

"Through this initiative, 19 children were provided with clothing, shoes, and blankets, bringing them immense joy", Brig Julfar added.

Captain Mariam Al Muhairi, Head of the Inmates Affairs Section in the Women's Prison Department, confirmed that the Women's Prison Department in Dubai places great importance on the happiness of the inmates and their children.

"The department is dedicated to providing a positive and comforting environment for the children, ensuring they receive suitable meals, access to necessary medical check-ups, and primary education," she added.
