ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
The Abu Dhabi Police’s Traffic and Patrols Directorate clarified that the speed limits on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Road, in both directions on the fast lanes (first and second lanes from the left only), are set with a maximum speed of 140kph and a minimum speed of 120kph.
Motorists driving below 120kph, the specified minimum speed on the road, will face a fine of Dh400.
The third lane with a speed limit of 140kph and the last lane designated for heavy vehicles are exempt from the minimum speed requirement.
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate urged drivers to adhere to safe driving practices for everyone's safety, emphasising the importance of attentiveness, ensuring a clear path before making lane changes, and using signals when changing lanes.
