The Ministry of Education announced the opening of registration for scholarship enrollment for the fall of 2024, calling on all outstanding Emirati students to submit applications for enrollment in the programme to pursue their university or postgraduate studies abroad.

The scholarship targets six categories of students, including citizens graduating from high school in the current year who aspire to obtain a scholarship for undergraduate programmes, high school graduates from previous years (up to a maximum of two years) for undergraduate studies, bachelor’s degree holders for Ph.D. studies, students currently enrolled in an undergraduate, master’s, or Ph.D. programme but wish to transfer to the Ministry’s scholarship, and exchange programme students.

This service allows eligible and qualified Emirati students to apply for a scholarship funded by the Ministry of Education to complete their academic degrees in top specialisations and international universities. The selection process considers various factors such as previous academic results, university admission exam scores, the university’s ranking, the need for the intended specialisation, success in the personal interview, and other criteria.

The Ministry has set several conditions for applying for an external scholarship, including not being a recipient of a scholarship or full study grant from any institution or scholarship entity inside or outside the UAE. Additionally, applicants must have a good reputation, certified by relevant authorities in the country, and have an unconditional academic acceptance with specified start and end dates for the study and the total cost.

The Ministry emphasised that university admission is one of the most crucial documents required to complete the scholarship application. The value and importance of studying abroad are closely tied to the academic acceptance; the higher the ranking of the chosen specialisation and university, leading to greater opportunities for entering the job market.

The Ministry advised students to plan ahead and apply for specialisations and universities in countries that fall within the criteria of high evaluation, and are new, as well as diverse for scholarship destinations. It highlighted that diversifying scholarship destinations enriches global experiences, skills, and educational opportunities.
The application period will continue until April 30.
