The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority has invited farmers and halal breeders to participate in a survey titled “The Social Impact of Agriculture in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi”.
The survey aims to measure the social impact of agriculture in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, determining differences in social variables, such as happiness, life satisfaction, and time spent with family, among different agricultural property owners, like farms or homesteads. The survey consists of 23 questions divided into four sections.
The first section includes demographic questions, the second assesses happiness levels, the third section measures life satisfaction, and the fourth section focuses on time spent with family. Demographic questions include whether the respondent owns a farm or homestead, the location of the property (Al Ain, Al Dhafra, or Abu Dhabi), the annual expenditure for property (starting from Dh100,000), and whether the respondent receives government support for the agricultural activity.
The survey also explores the nature of the activity (agricultural, animal, both, or none) and whether the respondent holds a licence for the activity.
Questions related to the purpose of use are also included, with choices including agricultural or animal production, family recreation, recreational activities with friends, hobbies or sports, among other options. The second section, measuring happiness levels, involves a rating scale from 0 to 10 for a self-described level of happiness and comparison with others.
The third section assesses life satisfaction, while the fourth section focuses on time spent with family, including participation in various activities and the respondent’s agreement or disagreement with statements about satisfaction with their time spent with family.
The survey, shared by the authority through its electronic channels, concludes with questions about the frequency and duration of monthly visits to the farm or homestead, residence duration, and the number of days spent on the agricultural property.
