A UAE-based company specialising in sustainable infrastructure around tourism is developing a first environment-friendly mountain lodge in the sultanate of Oman.
ENVI Lodges, a luxury brand in the hospitality industry and based out of Dubai Design District and has partnered with Oman’s Ministry of Defence Pension Fund to develop a lodge in the sultanate at Al Jabel Al Akhdar as part of its string of projects.
ENVI Lodges, which was launched in Dubai during the Arabian and African Hotel Investment Conference at Madinat Jumeirah two years ago, will open this new property in 2025, offering customers a glamping experience with 40 luxury expedition tents planned. Each unit is expected to overlook the Hajjar mountain range with an aim to minimise environmental impact.
The company has stated the tents will be insulated and include a heating system for the winter season, considering Al Jabel Al Akhdar sits at 2,000 metres above sea level. On-site facilities will include a farm-to-table restaurant, private pools, a fitness and wellness centre, along with an events space to host community activities.
According to the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund, the project is a step towards achieving the Oman National Tourism Strategy 2040 target of 11.7 million visitors and 80,000 hospitality keys, focused on nature, adventure, and sustainable initiatives.
