The “Tarahum - for Gaza” campaign will continue its activities over the weekend in its efforts to assist those affected by the war in Gaza. The event will start in Dubai on Saturday, with an activity to prepare in-kind aid with the efforts of citizen and resident volunteers. Campaign activities in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will start on Sunday.

At the Al Raml Hall in Dubai, the Dubai Cares Foundation will supervise the campaign, which aims on Saturday and Sunday to prepare 25,000 relief baskets with the participation of volunteers, as well as several public and private institutions.

The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) invited volunteers to contribute to Abu Dhabi campaign on Sunday, which will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC) from 9am to 2pm, under the supervision of the ERC.
In parallel, the Sharjah campaign will be launched at the Expo Centre Sharjah from 9am to 2pm on Sunday, under the supervision of the Sharjah Charity Association.

Those wishing to volunteer to participate in preparing the parcels can register through volunteer platforms such as “Volunteers Emirates”, or volunteering platforms associated with the ERC, the Dubai Volunteering Programme platform, the Sharjah Centre for Volunteering platform, and the “Day for Dubai” platform.

The community events on Saturday and Sunday are following a successful first activity of the “Tarahum - for Gaza” campaign last Sunday at the Abu Dhabi Ports Hall in Zayed Port, during which more than 4,500 volunteers successfully prepared 13,000 aid parcels, ranging from food to special baskets for women and children.

  • The event saw wide participation from youth and children

The campaign is supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Ministry of Community Development, in cooperation with the ERC, and the World Food Programme, with the participation of 20 charitable and humanitarian institutions. ERC centres across the country are open to receive in-kind donations, as detailed on the ERC’s website, as well as cash donations, which can be submitted to designated bank accounts according to the instructions specified on the ERC’s official website.

The “Tarahum - for Gaza” campaign was launched in the UAE last week as a sincere expression of the UAE’s solidarity and humanitarian cooperation. The campaign reflects the UAE’s humanitarian efforts to assist those affected by the war in Gaza, exemplifying the country’s humanitarian support for the Palestinian people and efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis occurring in the enclave, especially for women and children.

The campaign aims to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable groups, including women and especially children who make up about half of the Gazan population.
