BEIJING - H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, said that the UAE, under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, continues to expanding its trade relations and connections with countries around the world, using its regional and global influence to support sustainable development, prosperity, stability, and peace for people around the world.
H.H. Sheikh Saud made the statements while heading the UAE delegation to the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in the People's Republic of China.
“The UAE's ambitious vision has driven impressive economic, political, and development achievements, strengthening its regional and global standing and creating opportunities for expanding economic and trade partnerships worldwide. China is a strategic partner of the UAE, as evidenced by our long and successful history of economic trade. This partnership is the result of the strong cooperation between the leaders and people of both countries, and our shared commitment to ambitious plans for sustainable development.”
The UAE is a key player in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) due to its strategic location, important role in global trade, modern logistics capabilities, advanced infrastructure, and diversified knowledge-based economy, he continued.
"The UAE provides attractive investment opportunities and a competitive business environment in a variety of economic and commercial sectors. Additionally, the UAE's membership in numerous regional and international organisations that promote global economic growth further confirms its strategic, economic, and commercial stature," the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah noted.
Sheikh Saud praised the BRI for its success in promoting global economic connectivity and supporting the growth of new industries. He noted that the BRI has successfully boosted global trade and ushered in a new era of prosperity, stressing that the UAE, in line with its future-oriented vision, is looking forward to continuing its partnership with China.
“The 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to be hosted by the UAE this year is a significant opportunity to establish new values that reaffirm the international community's commitment to finding sustainable and innovative solutions to address climate change,” he noted.
