ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
The National Elections Committee announced that candidates for Federal National Council 2023 membership, whose names appear on the final list of candidates, may request to withdraw from the election today and tomorrow (September 25-26).
Any candidate who wishes to withdraw their nomination must submit a withdrawal request to the committee of the emirate to which they belong, according to the designated form. The form contains details about the candidate, their signature, and the date of submission. The withdrawal request form can be obtained through the committee’s official website.
The withdrawing candidate must remove all electoral campaign materials within, at most, one week from the date of their withdrawal.
Seven locations, distributed across all emirates, are open to receiving withdrawal requests: Abu Dhabi Committee Headquarters at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry - second floor; Dubai Committee Headquarters in Hatta Hall (C&D) at the Dubai World Trade Center; Sharjah Committee Headquarters at the Sharjah Consultative Council; the Ajman Committee Headquarters in Sheikh Hamid bin Rashid Hall at Ajman Museum; Umm Al Quwain Committee Headquarters in the Ministry of Community Development building in Umm Al Quwain - first floor; Ras Al Khaimah Committee Headquarters at the Emiri Diwan in Ras Al Khaimah; and Fujairah Committee Headquarters at the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry - eighth floor. Withdrawal requests may be submitted from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
