Tiger Kickboxing claimed the first title of the new season after topping the standings at the UAE Kickboxing Championship for Seniors in Abu Dhabi.
Organised by the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, the three-day event concluded on Sunday at Al Jazira’s Mubadala Dome.
Tiger fighters secured first place with an impressive tally of 10 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals, bringing their total haul to 18.
Titans Performance Sport Academy finished in second place with 6 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Abu Dhabi Muay Thai took third spot with 5 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals, followed by Universe Fitness in fourth with 4 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals and AJ Stars Academy in fifth with 2 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Under the technical regulations of the World Association of Kickboxing Organisations, final rankings are determined by gold medal count rather than overall medal totals.
The action spanned four core disciplines, featuring Point Fight and Kick Light on the tatami mats, as well as Low Kick and K-1 in the ring.
The national competition launched with the preliminary rounds on Friday, progressed through semi-finals on Saturday and culminated in a competitive slate of final bouts on Sunday before the medal presentations.
As the opening event of the domestic calendar, the championship offered clubs and coaches an early gauge of competitive form ahead of a season that runs through to June 2027, while providing the Federation a platform to evaluate top talent.
Ali Khouri, Board Member of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, praised the high technical standards and broad participation seen throughout the tournament.
"The range of clubs and academies on the podium reflects how much the competitive base has widened and how far the technical level of the championship has come.
It also confirms the effectiveness of the work being done to prepare athletes and refine their abilities, and it aligns directly with the federation's plans to grow the practising community and raise the standing of kickboxing in the UAE,” he said.
