The UAE President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses concluded its Russian leg successfully on Saturday when Voskhod Tersk took the title at Kazan International Racecourse.

The race formed part of the 33rd edition of the series, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court. Around 30,000 spectators attended the meeting.

Voskhod Tersk, by Hyyaf Al Khalediah out of Vereika by Camelot, represents Tersk Stud. Trained by Vladimir Vasilenko and ridden by Albert Shaihutdinov, the horse covered 1,800 metres on dirt in 2:06.14 to win the Listed contest for purebred Arabians aged four and above. Eleven runners took part.

Al Dhahabi finished second and Pokrov third. The victory added a new name to the list of champions in the current edition. The series continues to support the global standing of the Arabian horse and encourage breeding and ownership worldwide.

Saeed Al Muhairi, representing the Higher Organising Committee of the UAE President’s Cup, and Taleb bin Tamim, Head of Consular Affairs and Citizens’ Services at the UAE Embassy in Moscow, attended the race and presentations, along with other officials, owners, trainers and jockeys.

Founded in 1994 on the vision of the late Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE President’s Cup has grown into one of the world’s leading events for purebred Arabian horses with the ongoing support of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed.
