Abu Dhabi (Aletihad)

New York Strikers put up a dominating show against Team Abu Dhabi to register a stunning 10-wicket win in the 2024 Abu Dhabi T10 tournament being played at Zayed Cricket stadium.

Batting first, Team Abu Dhabi did not really start off the proceedings well as they lost wickets regularly and were reduced to 40 for five before getting restricted to 73 for seven in their 10 overs.

Pakistan's Mohammad Amir was the pick of the bowlers, returning with bowling figures of three wickets for seven runs in his two overs. The West Indies spinner Sunil Narine too scalped a couple of wickets at the cost of just 14 runs in two overs while Akeal Hosein and Khuzaima Tanveer picked up one wicket apiece.

Later, New York Strikers openers Kusal Perera of Sri Lanka and West Indies' Evin Lewis made sure that the side did not lose any wickets as they chased down the target in 6.2 overs. Perera chipped in with an unbeaten 56 off just 26 deliveries that included four sixes and six boundaries. Lewis on the other side, scored 17 not out from 12 balls.

Ajman Bolts grab first win

Mohammad Nabi-led Ajman Bolts picked up their first win with superb batting efforts from former England international Ravi Bopara (56 off 21 balls) and former Afghanistan skipper Gulbadin Naib (55 off 24 balls) scoring quick-fire fifties each. On the back of their efforts, Ajman posted a total of 142/6 setting up a steep target for the opposition.

Despite a good start in chase by Rassie van der Dussen, who scored 24 off 12 balls, and a late fireshow from skipper Thisara Perera, who scored 36 off 13 balls, Chennai Brave Jaguars were unable to chase down the total, scoring just 124/5 in 10 overs. Nabi picked up two crucial wickets in the match, as the skipper helped his side to an 18-run win.

In contrast to Phil Salt's fortunes for Team Abu Dhabi, his would-to-be colleague at Royal Challengers Bangalore, Liam Livingstone hit the winning runs for Bangla Tigers in an uplifting victory over Delhi Bulls.

After restricting the opposition to 123 for six, the Tigers reached the target with just two balls to spare and seven wickets in hand. The right-handed batsman smashed an unbeaten 40 runs in 12 balls to help Bangla Tigers get their first win of the season.
