The Pakistan Women’s cricket team is set to commence its ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign in the United Arab Emirates, with a match against Sri Lanka Women at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, the tournament features ten teams competing over 18 days across venues in the UAE, with Pakistan placed in Group ‘A’ alongside Australia, India, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.
The team will face India on October 6 and defending champions Australia on October 11, concluding group play against New Zealand on October 14.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for October 17 and 18, with the final on October 20 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The Pakistan Women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana expressed confidence in her team's preparations, highlighting their recent series against South Africa and warm-up matches as key to their readiness for the tournament in the UAE.
