Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, Mother of the Nation, and under the directives of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and Chairwoman of Abu Dhabi ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club, the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy has organised the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for ladies to be held in Abu Dhabi from 12-16 September 2024.

The announcement, which was attended by senior officials at the entity’s headquarters, highlighted that the tournament is part of the academy's ongoing efforts to support and promote women's sports in the UAE, fostering competition and professionalism in women's volleyball. The tournament is set to attract women's teams from various Arab nations, providing players with the opportunity to refine their skills and enhance their individual and collective technical and tactical performance.

The tournament aims to encourage players to adopt a more professional approach to training and planning. Additionally, the gathering of teams from diverse cultural and sports backgrounds promotes sportsmanship, deepening connections between Arab countries and enhancing the exchange of expertise.

Shamsa Al Hanaee, Board Member at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, said: "The Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies represents an important step towards enhancing the status of women's sports in our community. We are committed to providing platforms that allow female athletes to showcase their skills and contribute to the development of women's sports.

"This tournament is not just a sports competition; it is an opportunity to encourage young women to participate in sports and build a strong fan base for women's volleyball."

The tournament will feature leading women's teams, with matches played through preliminary rounds, followed by the semifinals, where the top-ranked team will face the fourth-placed team, and the second-placed team will compete against the third-placed team. The knockout semifinals will lead to the final match, determining the first and second places over five days at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy.
