Spain playmaker Dani Olmo has said goodbye to RB Leipzig and looks set to join Barcelona.

He wrote on Instagram on Friday: "Thank you for letting me be part of the RB Leipzig journey. I will always carry you in my heart."

The European champion had a release clause at the Bundesliga club but it was not triggered by the late July deadline. However, it now looks as if he is heading to Barcelona to join up with their new coach, Hansi Flick.

Media reports say the 26-year-old will sign a contract with the Catalans until 2030 in a deal worth an initial $60 million.

His deal at Leipzig was due to run until 2027. He won two German Cups and a German Super Cup at Leipzig, joining from Dinamo Zagreb in 2020.
