The prestigious Wathba Stallions Cup for Purebred Arabians concluded its European leg on Sunday with three exciting races held in France and Romania. The events saw a total of 28 horses compete as part of the 16th edition of the H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Racing Festival.
France's Montauban racecourse hosted two Wathba Stallions Cup races. The first, a 2250-meter test, attracted a competitive field of 12 three-year-old fillies and colts. Ezwa’t Al Shahania, owned by Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, emerged victorious. The second race, also 2250 meters, featured eight horses aged four and above. Here, Kasssou Hipolyte, owned and trained by C. Chenu, claimed the top prize.
Romania's Ploiesti racecourse in Bucharest played host to the final race of the day. This 1720-meter contest saw eight three-year-olds battle it out. Ultimately, Hermes D'etoiles, owned by Ivan Yordanov, showcased its talent and secured victory.
