WHO chief arrives in Spain ahead of passenger disembarkation from Hantavirus cruise ship

The ​head of the World Health Organisation (WHO) arrived in ⁠Spain on Saturday, ​where he ​will ‌join senior government ⁠officials ​in Tenerife to oversee the safe disembarkation of passengers ‌on board the cruise ‌ship where an outbreak of Hantavirus ​started.

WHO Director General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said on X that he was ‌in contact ​with the ship's captain and a WHO colleague who ​is ‌on ⁠board. ‌who ‌said that, at this ⁠stage, there are ​no additional people on board showing symptoms of Hantavirus.
