GENEVA/WASHINGTON (Reuters) 

The United States will pledge $2 billion in ​life-saving assistance to ‌tens of millions ​of ⁠people ‌facing hunger and disease in ⁠dozens of countries next ⁠year, the State Department ​said in a statement on Monday.

The money ​will be ‍overseen by the United Nations Office ‍for the ⁠Coordination ​of Humanitarian Affairs, ​according to ‍the statement.
