A man been charged with murder after a student from Saudi Arabia was stabbed to death in Cambridge.
"Police were called to Mill Park at 11.27pm on Friday with reports of violence," Cambridgeshire Police said in a statement.
"Despite best efforts of paramedics, Mohammed Algasim, 20, from Saudi Arabia, who was on a 10-week placement studying in Cambridge, was pronounced dead at the scene," the statement added.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday but authorities believe Algasim "was stabbed in an unprovoked attack".
"A 21-year-old man, from Cambridge, has been charged with murder and possession of a knife in a public place. He is due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court [on Monday," the police said.
"A 50-year-old man, also from the city, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. He remains in custody," they added.
