Outgoing US President Joe Biden will give a farewell address to the nation on Wednesday, the White House said on Friday.
The 82-year-old will address Americans from the Oval Office at 8 pm on Wednesday (0100 GMT Thursday), the White House announced.
Five days later - on January 20 - the Democrat will formally hand over the presidency to his Republican predecessor Donald Trump, who was re-elected to the office in the presidential election in early November.
Biden has repeatedly emphasized the importance of an orderly and peaceful transfer of power for democracy.
