The Prime Minister of Thailand, Srettha Thavisin, praised Al-Azhar's efforts in promoting and enhancing the values of dialogue, tolerance, and coexistence. He affirmed that his country seeks to strengthen cooperation with Al-Azhar to contribute to global peace.

This came during Thavisin's reception of His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, today in Bangkok.

The Prime Minister of Thailand expressed his country's appreciation for the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, noting that the latter’s historic visit would enhance constructive cooperation between Thailand and Al-Azhar.

He explained that the Thai students studying at Al-Azhar contribute positively to the development experienced by Thai society.

He confirmed that the meetings and events that marked the visit of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, to Thailand were met with a warm welcome and great celebration from all components of Thai society.

For his part, His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, expressed his appreciation for the Kingdom of Thailand, its leadership, and its people. He commended the Thai students studying at Al-Azhar and mentioned Al-Azhar's readiness to establish a center for teaching the Arabic language in Thailand.
