UN Security Council supports Biden's plan for ceasefire in Gaza Strip

The UN Security Council supports a multi-stage plan presented by US President Joe Biden for a ceasefire in the Gaza war after adopting a corresponding resolution in New York.

The text - passed with 14 votes in favour - "welcomes" the truce and hostage release proposal announced on May 31 by President Joe Biden, and urges "parties to fully implement its terms without delay and without condition."
