Multiple earthquakes struck Iran on Tuesday with tremors 'slightly' felt by residents in parts of the UAE, according to The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

A total of three quakes jolted Iran during the day with the first two earthquakes, magnitude 5.5 and 6.0, hitting southern Iran in the morning, NCM reported.

The third magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck in the afternoon.

NCM added that the tremors were felt by residents in the UAE without any effect.

The quakes were at a depth of 10 km, NCM said.
