AMEINAH ALZEYOUDI (AL DHAFRA)

This winter, Liwa Village, the lively centre of the Liwa International Festival 2026, has become a popular family attraction, providing a rich fusion of contemporary entertainment, immersive cultural experiences, and Emirati history.
In the heart of Al Dhafra, the town offers a vibrant environment where tradition and modernity meet, appealing to tourists of all ages.

Each of the village's six primary zones - Souq, Auto, Maydan, Adrenaline, Shams Liwa, and Wanasa - offers a unique experience. Live theatrical performances, interactive games, escape rooms, kid-friendly play spaces, and workshops for Emirati handicrafts are among the daily events.

Along with engaging activities like ziplining, a maze, a petting zoo, and a display of vintage cars, visitors can also take in live musical performances that heighten the festive atmosphere.

The variety and calibre of entertainment available in Liwa Village has been highly praised by families who have visited. Umm Hind from Abu Dhabi said her children enjoyed the interactive games and exploring the adventure areas.

She said a family could easily enjoy a full day of activities offering a combination of fun and educational activities.

She also praised the level of organisation and safety.

Abu Hazza, also from Abu Dhabi, said the Liwa Village surpassed his expectations as a family vacation spot. He complimented the zones' design, which appeals to both kids and adults, and said that the carnival-style games engaged younger visitors while reminding parents of their childhood.

Umm Abdullah from Madinat Zayed said that her family had an unforgettable time at the village. In addition to learning about Emirati crafts and customs in a fun and contemporary setting, she observed her kids' enthusiasm as they explored the play park, maze, and themed rooms.

The festival runs until January 3, 2026.
