ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

The Arts Centre at NYU Abu Dhabi will be hosting a screening of an International Short Films Programme in the Cineolio’s Cinenights series on Tuesday, October 28.

Five short films from across the globe, curated by local filmmaker Nawaf Al Janahi, will be featured.

With a growing network, Cinenights presents a diverse selection of short films on the big screen in various venues around the world, celebrating cinematic unity and encouraging intellectual and cultural exchange.

The screening will be followed by a post-show talk with Al Janahi.

“DreamLink” (Australia) directed by Kalani Gacon
A troubled teenager seeks solace in DreamLink, a revolutionary app merging dreams and reality that promises to connect them with the person they need the most.

“Into the Night” (Algeria) directed by Faycal Hammoum
As night falls, a woman in her fifties appears at the exit of a station carrying flyers of a missing person. Then, in the alleyways, a long night of wandering starts, and she dives like a ghost into the darkness of the city.

“Life in Pink Like in the Movies” (Switzerland) directed by Christophe Saber
Old Super 8 film reels bought in a second-hand store take a young filmmaker into the past of an unknown family. He decides to give back this holy shrine, full of memories, to their legitimate owner, only to find that in reality the image of a perfect family vanishes.

“The Shore” (Netherlands) directed by Eron Sheean
Abandoned by his parents on an empty beach, a young boy embarks on a surreal journey through time – and a contemplation of his own mortality.

“Wintry Spring” (Egypt) directed by Mohamed Kamel
A schoolgirl living with her father faces a crisis as puberty arrives. Unable to confide in her father, who struggles to comprehend the changes she’s experiencing, their relationship becomes strained.
