Two of the world’s largest diamond-encrusted portraits are on display at the ongoing Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), offering a dazzling tribute to the UAE’s leadership.

The portraits –  featuring President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai – were created by jewellery designer and Sam & Bros founder Fakhri Tarabein.

“These pieces are made with a lot of love and meticulous work to present the leaders in the right way,” Tarabein said. “It took us around a year just to collect and grade the diamonds.”

The artworks were crafted from millions of natural micro-diamonds, set onto fibreglass prints of the portraits.

The portrait of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed sparkles with nearly 184 carats of diamonds, while the portrait of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid shines with  around 181 carats. Both are presented in ornate 24-karat gold-plated frames decorated with gilded wood.

Each portrait is certified for the authenticity of its diamonds, according to Tarabein.

“These are unique pieces of art and are considered the world’s largest diamond portraits,” he added, emphasising the painstaking detail involved in their creation.
