The second Heritage Middle East Museum and Exhibition Technologies Fair and Conference (Heritage Middle East 2024) commenced on Tuesday at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi with a focus on artistic and cultural activities of the Arabic world.

Running until Thursday, the event offers an ideal platform to discuss future projects in the museology sector, enhancing communication among specialists to develop innovative technologies for preserving cultural and artistic heritage.

The event is witnessing the participation of leading organisations and businesses in the field, along with academics, designers, architects, art historians and conservators.

In conversation with Aletihad, Mansour Al Hammami from CIRAM Laboratory, a world leader in dating and scientific analysis of art objects, talked about their participation.

"We use advanced methods in our C14 carbon analysis lab to accurately examine artifacts and determine their age. To demonstrate the value of technology in preserving cultural heritage, we aim to highlight our nation's rich heritage and raise awareness of its global significance by working with regional museums and cultural organisations," Al Hammami told Aletihad.

Also participating in the event, Sanjay Kumar, Managing Consultant from Panworld Education, a leading content and technology integrator for educational solutions, said the event serves as a meeting point for stakeholders in the sector.

"Our goal at the conference was to educate visitors about the immersive solutions we offer for museum spaces, including digitisation, archiving, holograms, RFID-based asset management and inventory solutions, as well as institutional repositories," Kumar said.

The event strengthens interaction between museums, cultural institutions in the Arab world and specialised global companies, he added.
