AMEINAH ALZEYOUDI (ABU DHABI)

Every year, Qasr Al Hosn hosts the Qasr Al Hosn Festival, a celebration of Emirati culture and traditions that honour the palace's history.

It is a significant cultural event that helps preserve and promote the heritage of the United Arab Emirates for future generations and is hosted under the patronage of the President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Through interactive events, the UAE government seeks to raise awareness about national identity while also preserving its cultural and historical heritage.

Numerous venues both inside and outside the palace host a range of events and activities during the Qasr Al Hosn Festival.

The various iterations of the festival are among the most notable events.

Numerous traditional Emirati performances, including folk dances, music, and performing arts that embody Emirati culture are featured at the festival.

Among others, it features interactive workshops that teach guests traditional and handicrafts such as wood carving and ceramics, as well as Emirati crafts like weaving and wicker carpet creation.

It features a variety of exhibitions that depict the history of the Emirates, from antiquity to the present, by showcasing artefacts such as weaponry, traditional attire, household implements and vintage photographs.

The event reinforces the country's identity by bringing Abu Dhabi's rich past to life through participatory performances, seminars and exhibitions.
