Draped in a globally inspired tapestry of cultural and entertainment events, the Sheikh Zayed Festival 2024-2025 is gearing up to attract millions of visitors from across the UAE and around the globe.

Under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the event is set against the backdrop of Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, from November 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025. 

This festival features more than 6,000 international cultural events and over a thousand shows and major public events, in addition to more than 30,000 exhibitors and participants.

Under the supervision of Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, and Chairman of the Festival’s Higher Organising Committee, this year's edition of the festival will be held under the theme "Hayakum" (Arabic for welcome) with participation from over 27 countries — including first-time exhibitors. 

Celebrating National Pride

A highlight of the festival will be the “Union Parade”, an emblematic celebration reaffirming the strength and unity of the people of the UAE in preserving the heritage and core national values established by the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The festival will also honour the UAE National Day with a special 14-day celebration featuring folk art shows, parades, raffles, and a stunning array of entertainment, including fireworks and drone displays.

A Hub of Heritage

At the heart of the festival lies the Heritage Village, showcasing traditional markets and live performances that bring the rich Emirati culture to life. 

The Emirati Tent Restaurant, Al Kheimah, invites visitors to experience authentic cuisine, making for a journey through the UAE's historical and cultural landscape.

New Year’s Celebrations and Beyond

This edition introduces an extended celebration of New Year’s festivities, lasting two weeks. The event will include spectacular fireworks designed to break Guinness World Records, alongside innovative drone and laser shows. 

Weekly fireworks displays will add to the excitement, complemented by the newly introduced "Musical Fountain", which synchronises water movements with music, creating a captivating spectacle for families and friends.

Honey and Dates: A Taste of Tradition

For food enthusiasts, the "Honey Exhibition" will showcase a variety of rare honey types, supporting the local honey production sector. 

Additionally, a date festival will highlight the UAE’s finest local dates, providing a sensory experience of taste and tradition.

Skills Showcase

A new addition to this year’s festival is the “Skills” Programme, organised by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Media Network. 

This initiative will feature events and competitions designed to showcase UAE student talents in technical and professional fields.

Automotive Passion

Car enthusiasts will delight in the Al Wathba Custom Show, featuring competitions and workshops focused on classic car restoration and enhancement. 

This area will offer insights into the latest modifications and innovations in automotive technology.

Musical Evenings and Family Fun

“Al Wathba Nights” will host a series of concerts featuring renowned Arab artists, blending traditional and contemporary music. 

Weekly performances will coincide with special events, ensuring a rich cultural experience for citizens, residents, and tourists alike.

A Family-Focused Adventure

The festival’s Theme Park will offer thrilling rides enhanced by virtual reality, alongside a “Haunted House” for those seeking adventure. 

A revamped children's area will feature numerous live events and competitions aimed at empowering younger audiences.

The renewed "Rare Species Reserve" will provide educational opportunities to learn about rare animals, further enriching visitors’ experience.

Government Entities 

A number of government entities are participating in the Sheikh Zayed Festival, recognising its significance, including the National Archives and Library, Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, Abu Dhabi Majlis, Camel Racing Federation, Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, and the Arabian Saluki Centre.

During their participation, these entities will highlight national identity and community engagement and enhance social ties among citizens and visitors through a range of events, interactive workshops, and cultural exhibitions that reinforce UAE values, providing opportunities for everyone to explore the UAE’s rich history and authentic traditions.

The Festival welcomes the public daily from 16:00 to midnight during weekdays and until 01:00 on weekends and public holidays.
