The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) have partnered to coordinate efforts on various projects and initiatives related to museums, archaeology, and heritage.
The partnership aims to foster a strong national identity among future generations, boost cultural tourism in the UAE, and enhance local heritage’s global presence. The partnership also targets to align with the organisations’ shared commitment to strengthen integration among UAE cultural entities and develop a leading cultural sector that solidifies the nation’s global standing.
The partnership delineates a framework for exchanging expertise between the two entities in museums, heritage, and antiquities. The collaboration will encompass organising training courses, workshops, conferences, joint dialogues, and specialised activities. Additionally, the agreement underscores collaborative scientific research and studies on antiquities, museums, and both tangible and intangible heritage.
Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary of DCT Abu Dhabi, said: “DCT Abu Dhabi is committed to growing and elevating the emirate’s culture and tourism sectors while ensuring the preservation of our heritage through cooperation with key entities.”
He added: “This collaborative spirit is exemplified by our partnership with Dubai Culture, which will facilitate visionary projects and strategic plans to develop and unify efforts across culture, tourism, museums, heritage, and antiquities, raising the UAE’s cultural profile globally and fostering greater pride in our nation and its rich heritage, particularly among our youth.
Enhancing Relations
Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, emphasised the entity’s commitment to engage with local institutions and enhancing relations, which positively impacts the creative movement in the UAE. She said that through its various projects, Dubai Culture aims to enrich the cultural landscape by raising community awareness about archaeological sites of the UAE, heritage preservation, and the significance of our collective history. This support bolsters the UAE’s cultural infrastructure and solidifies its standing as a global leader across all cultural domains.
She also expressed pride in the partnership with DCT Abu Dhabi, emphasising that this collaboration will foster a sustainable and integrated creative ecosystem. It is poised to generate new opportunities of joint collaborative projects that explore in the museum and antiquities sector.
