DUBAI (ALETIHAD)
Dubai Police, represented by the General Department of Traffic and the Esaad Card Centre, has announced the launch of an awareness competition via the "Traffic Safety Platform" to educate the public about the leading causes of accidents and raise awareness of safe behaviours on the roads, contributing to consolidating shared responsibility among road users to protect lives and property.
The competition comes within Dubai Police's continuous efforts to expand community participation in traffic awareness, motivate community members to enhance their knowledge of traffic rules, and transform this knowledge into daily practices that contribute to accident prevention.
The competition runs for five weeks and features ten questions on the leading causes of traffic accidents, such as not leaving a sufficient safe distance between vehicles, excessive speed, unsafe stopping at the roadside, and other causes identified based on traffic studies.
At the conclusion of the competition, an electronic draw will be held to select five winners, each of whom will receive an "Esaad" card and enjoy the privileges and discounts it offers across 10 different sectors.
Director of the Esaad Card Centre at the General Department of Logistics Support, Brigadier Salah Mohammad Al Marzouqi, affirmed that the Centre's participation in the competition embodies its commitment to community responsibility to supporting initiatives that enhance the safety and quality of life of individuals.
He explained that "Esaad" employs its partnerships and privileges to encourage participation in purposeful initiatives, thereby enhancing the integration of efforts with partners and contributing to achieving common objectives in serving the community and consolidating positive behaviour.
For his part, Colonel Talal Abdullah Al Mansouri, Director of the Traffic Education Department at the General Department of Traffic, said that accident prevention begins with road users recognising the dangerous behaviours that cause accidents, and committing to the rules that protect everyone.
He explained that the competition allows the public to test their knowledge and correct traffic misconceptions interactively, helping them understand awareness messages and apply them while driving, and making community members active partners in enhancing road safety.
The public can participate by registering on the Traffic Safety Platform at https://amanroads.gov.ae/trsp/en.
The platform provides awareness messages through videos and text content, offering tips and guidance to all segments of the community to enhance understanding of traffic safety measures, driving rules, compliance with traffic regulations, and pedestrian laws, along with the opportunity to view awareness campaigns and participate in competitions.
Those wishing to participate in this awareness competition can answer the ten questions to qualify for the final electronic draw and have a chance to win an 'Esaad' card.
