Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters has enhanced the capabilities of its virtual character, Captain Sanad, by introducing new media and interactive functions powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
These include presenting news bulletins, providing traffic information and weather alerts, helping to host events and official occasions, and communicating in multiple languages.
These enhancements will help ensure that security-related and awareness information reaches diverse segments of the community quickly.
The development of Captain Sanad aligns with Abu Dhabi’s efforts to accelerate digital transformation and adopt AI solutions across government operations.
It also supports the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Digital Government Strategy 2025–2027, which seeks to establish an AI-driven government model and use advanced technologies to improve efficiency and deliver more seamless, proactive, and effective experiences for the community.
The new capabilities of Captain Sanad contribute to enhancing the public experience by delivering information quickly, clearly, and interactively.
They also broaden the reach of security and awareness messages to diverse population groups and nationalities, particularly on topics related to community safety, road safety, and weather conditions.
This supports greater public awareness, encourages positive behaviours, and helps people respond to information and guidance in a timely manner.
The use of this virtual character also enables content to be delivered through digital channels and platforms in modern formats and multiple languages.
This improves access to information, reflects the diversity of Abu Dhabi’s community, and helps create a more accessible and engaging media experience for the public.
Director of the Security Media Department, Colonel Staff Ahmed Juma Al Kaabi, said that the development of Captain Sanad reflects Abu Dhabi Police’s commitment to supporting the emirate’s efforts to adopt AI responsibly and effectively.
He noted that AI can be leveraged to enhance the efficiency of media operations, accelerate the production and dissemination of information, and analyse public needs.
He added that the virtual character combines technological innovation with safety messaging to strengthen communication, meet community expectations, and keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital media landscape.
